Beonca Godfrey hit a pair of 3-pointers during an 18-3 run that blew open a close game and helped lead Avon Park to a 55-31 victory on Tuesday afternoon over arch-rival Sebring.
The win clinches Avon Park's first regular-season sweep over Sebring since 2001.
Godfrey finished with a game-high 14 points, as Avon Park hit five 3-pointers as a team to go up by as much as 26 points in the second half.
Sebring was led by Jerrica Moore and Shannon Williams, who went out with a head injury late in the game, with seven points, while Tangie McCullors and Zykeria Dawkins each had six for the Streaks

GIRLS SOCCER: Sebring 1, Clewiston 1
CLEWISTON - Junior Karrie Lester scored a goal in the 30th minute on an assist from Amanda Grimaldo on Monday night, but the Clewiston girls soccer team railed for the equalizer in the second half in a 1-1 tie with Sebring.
"Everyone played well and contributed," said Sebring coach Steve Ashley, who noted solid play from seniors Lisa Pryzchocki and Ricki Albritton.
The Streaks, now 5-5-2 overall, are now unbeaten in five straight games. They took on rival Avon Park on Tuesday night (see Thursday's Highlands Today for complete coverage) and travel to Hardee on Thursday.
"Those are two big district matches," Ashley said. "If we continue to play they way we've been able to, hopefully we can get on a little bit of the roll to carry us through the holidays."
BOYS BASKETBALL: Sonrise Christian 79, Lake Placid 57
LAKE PLACID - Andre Young has 21 points and big man Trevalier Sholtz added 12 more on Monday night, but the Lake Placid boys basketball team couldn't overcome a big night from Sonrise's Josh Turner in a 79-57 loss.
Turner had 42 points in one of his best performances of his high school career.
"His coach said he's been getting looks from D-I schools," said LP coach David Veley. "He said Turner had one of his best nights ever, and it had to be against us."
Kirk Veley and Devonta Fleming added seven points each for the Dragons who travel to Sebring for this weekend's Taviniere tourney.
