SEBRING - Jenny Waldon kept serving, and the Sebring volleyball team did something it had never done before.
The Blue Streaks pulled off a 25-0 blanking of Sarasota-Booker in the opening set of Thursday's match, the first such shutout by a Sebring team since prep teams went to rally scoring seven years ago.
"I've never seen a game go that way," said Sebring coach Venessa Sinness, whose team went on to the 25-0, 25-9, 25-11 victory. "As a coach, after a win like that, it's tough thinking of something to say to your team. They didn't do very much wrong."
Hannah Shoop had five kills in the first set, Molly Blackman added three kills and Waldon had 14 aces, a result, Sinness said, of the rivalry victory over Avon Park earlier in the week.
"We definitely carried the momentum from that game," she said.
The Streaks hit the road this week, starting with a match at Hardee on Tuesday. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
