A sweeping victory.
The Sebring Blue Streaks showed why they are a team to be reckoned with by rolling to easy wins in the eight-team Blackman Invitational swim meet on Saturday.
On the girls side of the all-relay event was Sebring with 484 points for first, Lake Placid took third with 424, Hardee finished sixth with 170, and Avon Park claimed seventh with 134.
On the boys side, Sebring finished first with 410, while Lake Placid came in second with 276.
Hardee took third with 224, followed closely by Avon Park in fourth with 222.
Some of the events were the relays that are part of any high school swim meet, while others were unique to the Blackman all-relay event.
In the girls 400-yard freestyle relay, Sebring took first with a 4:06.34 and Hardee finished fourth with a 4:44.48.
In the boys 400-yard freestyle relay event, the Blue Streaks took first with a 3:51.73, followed by Hardee which placed second in 3:57.10.
Lake Placid came in third with a 4:08.51, while the Red Devils finished fifth in a time of 4:33.38.
The Green Dragon girls finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 1:57.62.
Avon Park came in second with a 1:59.98.
Sebring was third with a 2:01.65 and Hardee was fifth with a 2:04.44.
The Wildcats took first in the boys 200-yard freestyle relay with a 1:44.60.
The Blue Streaks placed second with a 1:48.91, while Avon Park was fourth with a 1:50.18.
Lake Placid claimed fifth with a 1:55.58.
Sebring was first in the girls 200 medley relay with a 2:05.89. Lake Placid came in second with a 2:16.14, and Sebring's "B" relay was fifth with a 2:25.25.
Sebring also won the boys with a 1:57.98.
Lake Placid placed second with a time of 2:00.05 and Hardee had a 2:00.09 which was good for third.
Tim and Martile Blackman, sponsors of the annual event, seemed pleased with the meet.
"We've had this meet for ten or twelve years now, and we're proud to sponsor the Blue Streak swim program," Tim Blackman said.
"The coaches, the athletes, and all the volunteers worked hard to put this meet together and we thank them."
The Blue Streak swim team is on the road on Tuesday with an away meet at Lake Gibson High School.
Sebring will host Lake Placid in a meet on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Blue Streak pool.
