Taking advantage of perfect weather and ideal scoring conditions, the 111 players in Saturday's Lake Placid High School Baseball Fundraiser golf scramble made their share of birdies.

"I can't thank the people in Highlands County enough for their support of this tournament," said Lake Placid High School baseball coach Dan Coomes. "This is the most people we've ever had for the event, and it was a beautiful day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
"This is the main fundraiser for our baseball team and we really appreciate all the support."
