PALMETTO - Quarterback Brian Smith passed for 211 yards and a touchdown while tailback Jeremiah McKinney ran for two scores to lead Palmetto to a 41-0 rout of Avon Park.
The Tiger defense stuffed the Red Devils in the second half, holding them to 14 yards of offense in the final two quarters. Senior Willie English ran for 23 yards on 12 carries to pace AP, which finished the season 1-9. Palmetto improved to 8-2 and will face DeSoto in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs.
