SEBRING -- With picture postcard weather and the demanding Harder Hall golf course in excellent shape, Saturday's Meals On Wheels golf tournament was a rousing success.
The 18-hole, four-person scramble attracted a field of 76 golfers and the talented foursome of Scott Mauck, Mike Lamere, Don Randloph and Bill Diekman won the First Flight with a 51.
The team of Paul Howard, Don Belcher, Bob Parker and Bob Young placed second with a 54, while Floyd Osborne, Alan Price, Cody Watt and Justin Painter came in third with a 55.
The Second Flight was won by Tom Jenkins, Ferland Cribb, Tim Cribb and Mike London with a 52.
Dr. Luis Pena, Dr. Kye Pahk, Dr. Kim and Dr. Gonzalez placed second with a 55, after a match of cards with the foursome of Josh Summerfield, Tinker Helseth, Jay Jones and Bruce Summerfield.
The Third Flight was won by Art Singley, Paul Orman, Greg Hartseil and Carl Yeager with a 55.
Placing second was Todd Schwingel, Mike Murphy, Dennis Murphy and Brian Murphy with a 57, while Kurt Wall, Tom Watson, Jim Laird and Billy Drummond finished third at 59.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Billy Drummond on hole No. 5, Dick White on hole No. 9 and Don Belcher on hole No. 16.
Long drive winners were Justin Painter on hole No. 1, Chuck Sayre on hole No. 15 and Bill Cole on hole No. 18.
The event raised more than $10,000 for the Meals On Wheels program and tournament coordinator Jeff Dressel was happy with the turnout.
"It was an outstanding day and we really appreciate the support from the community," he said.
