Gaddy Wins Sportsmen Golf

Local knowledge paid off for Jeffrey Gaddy in the 39th annual Florida Sportsmen Association Charity Open golf tournament.

The two-day, 36-hole, stroke-play tournament was held at Harder Hall Country Club over the weekend, and Gaddy, who resides in Sebring, won the Championship Flight with a net score of 137.

Gow Fields placed second with a net score of 139 and Sam Brown and Sebring's Michael Jackson tied for third at 141.

The annual event's proceeds go locally to the Children's Christmas Shopping Spree, the Minority Awards Dinner, the Juneteenth Celebration, Youth Golf and Support program, the Bread of Life Food Bank and many, many other worthwhile projects.

Glen Phillips won the First Flight with a 136, Don Moore came in second with a 140, Isom Rivers took third at 141 and Alfred Ennis finished fourth with a 143.

The Second Flight was won by Robert Little with a 139, Bernard McClinton placed second at 140, Henry Wright Sr. came in third with a 143 and Robert Cunningham took fourth at 145.

Ross Lewis won the Third Flight with a 139, after a match of cards with Patricia Jones, Winfred Glover came in third at 142 and Lloyd Richards finished fourth with a 144.

John Byrd won the Super Seniors Flight with a 135, Curtis Williams placed second with a 136 after a match of cards with Earnest Johnson and John McGee.
