An idea for the party to consider

With elections coming up next month, Tea Partiers should start asking who among those politicos running for office would support the following.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform that is being considered, in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop. This is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come.

People supporting the Tea Party ideas should contact a minimum of twenty people on their address list and in turn ask each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."

Good food equals big bellies

I heard the other day that most men when they reach the size of forty around the waist they never buy another belt of a larger size, they just start lowering the belt to a spot low enough to use the forty belt. I started watching men who have 16 or more inches hanging out over the top of their belt and wondering if I am starting to look like they do.

It makes you wonder when they began not caring what they look like, or have gotten past the point of needing to look good in order to get a girl friend. They are probably thinking, "I have a good wife who feeds me, so this must be what she wants me to look like."

This morning I was looking at myself in the very large mirror in our bath and turned sideways to see my belly. Sure enough it was much larger than I thought it might be. I got a tape measure from the PW's sewing basket and let my belly relax and pushed it out farther, it came to an embarrassing 46 inches at a point about three inches above the belly button. I then sucked it in as far as possible and got it to read 39 inches.

Now that's above the belly button and I wear my pants a bit lower. Size 38 waists are too baggy and won't stay up. Size 36 fit better but sure enough there is that belly hanging over the belt to the point I can't see my shoes.

I am beginning to believe that the problem with my aching back is the work the back requires to support the weight of 30 pounds of excess fat out in front.

It's time to take some drastic action.
