Have a great Thanksgiving

Watching and reading the news from all over the world makes one grateful that the calamities that are happening elsewhere are not happening to you or your family.

Those of us who have escaped tragedy or bad times may wonder what those who have may be thankful for on this day of Thanksgiving.

There are millions of families throughout the world who are suffering and facing life without happiness or well being. There are thousands who have left this life and their families in grief, their wives, husbands, mothers and fathers wondering why this has happened to them. They were good people, undeserving of their bad luck or fate.

Most of us have gone through the tragedy of losing loved ones, and we can remember the actual physical pain and sorrow we had at that particular time. That pain is so real that it makes you feel as though life is just too cruel.

Somehow we manage to overcome this feeling and get on with our lives. God has given us the ability to recover. He has also blessed us with our feelings of compassion for those who are suffering. Those of us who are not suffering do have reason to be thankful.

Thanksgiving Day is somewhat like Easter and Christmas when it comes to talking to God and thanking Him for His gifts. There are many who believe in God and Christ and will go to church on Easter even if they never go to church any other Sunday of the year. Thanksgiving is one holiday that most families will at least say a prayer before the dinner meal even if they have not prayed openly any other day of the year.

So, at this afternoon's Thanksgiving meal, when you ask God's blessing for the nourishment you are about to receive, be sure to also thank Him for your good fortune and ask that He gives comfort and relief to the those who are not so fortunate.

Ask Him to give protection, comfort and strength to our military soldiers who are serving our country in a foreign land.

Life is particularly hard for those who are unemployed and cannot find work of any kind. Pray that our country's economy will make a turn around and employers will be able to foresee that a larger work force can produce more profits.

Ask that He will provide our country's political leadership with an avenue upon which some common ground can be tread so that good bi-partisanship will lead to solutions which can benefit both parties and their constituents desires without more debt.

Thankfulness of man

A real woman is a man's best friend.

She will never stand him up and never let him down. She will reassure him when he feels insecure and comfort him after a bad day.

She will inspire him to do things he never thought he could do; to live without fear and forget regret. She will enable him to express his deepest emotions and give in to his most intimate desires.

She will make sure he always feels as though he's the most handsome man in the room and will enable him to be the most confident, sexy, seductive, and invincible.

No wait, I'm sorry. I'm thinking of beer. That's what beer does. Never mind.
