A written plea of not guilty was entered Monday for the man accused of dragging two men 370 feet underneath his truck.
Christopher Sullivan, 20, is charged with two counts of attempted vehicular homicide, three counts of attempted aggravated battery and one count of leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury.
A continuance was granted in the case, which next comes before the court on May 19.
On Feb. 7, Sullivan allegedly tried to hit three teens with his truck after one stole a candy bar from inside.
He returned later with another man to get payback for the juveniles throwing bricks at his vehicle.
In the midst of the chaos, Sullivan reportedly hit the two men with his truck and dragged them down East Royal Palm Avenue in Lake Placid. Both victims were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital.
Colby case continued until April 8
The misdemeanor case against Preston Colby will be back before Judge Anthony Ritenour on April 8 for jury trial status, according to court records.
Also on that date, the judge will consider a hearing filed by Colby - representing himself - on a motion to suppress evidence.
The state attorney's office filed misdemeanor trespassing and theft charges against Colby on Jan. 22 in reference to an incident last fall.
On Oct. 13, Highlands County Road and Bridge employees noticed Colby's 1997 Ford truck driving into the compound and called the sheriff's office, according to a Jan. 22 Highlands Today report. The defendant was detained at the scene.
County employees reportedly saw Colby filling three containers of recycled asphalt from stockpiles in the yard, according to the report. When they approached him, he left.
