The Taste of the Race has a special attraction this year.
Today, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. there will be a dunk tank set up on the vacant lot across from the Circle featuring Sebring attorney Jim McCollum. McCollum will help raise money for the March of Dimes.
McCollum has been a longtime supporter for the March of Dimes whose mission is to prevent prematurity, birth defects, and infant mortality.
According to a press release from the organization, in an average week in Florida, 4,554 babies are born, 627 babies are preterm, 396 babies are low birthweight and 32 babies die before reaching their first birthday.
The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce will present the annual event with its mix of vintage cars and local food in downtown Sebring.
The Taste of the Race will bring together car enthusiasts to enjoy lunch and see vintage and historic race cars from the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association, which will drive over from Sebring International Raceway.
Food vendors will be situated around the Circle. The Palms of Sebring will sell $1 tacos; Woody's Bar-B-Q will serve half-slabs of ribs; Florida Land Partners will have hamburgers; and the Sebring Noon Rotary Club will have pulled pork and brisket.
Also, Country Club of Sebring will sell pizza; This Party's For You will sell hot dogs; XOCAI the Healthy Chocolate will have chocolate. Positive Medical Transport will sell water.
