I read in today's paper (March 11) that the initial payment of $61.2 million in stimulus money has been received by the state. The report indicates it will pay up to 95 percent of a new hire's salary provided; the employer is approved, (by whom?) The applicant meets federal low income requirements and has a dependent child at home.
Since this is our tax dollars being spent, don't you think that any American citizen who needs a job and is qualified should be able to apply? The report also does not say that citizenship is a criterion for application. Isn't this discrimination in its purest form? I don't want my tax dollars spent this way, do you? You don't have a choice until November 2010!
