Palms to host fundraiser for Meals on Wheels

SEBRING - The Palms of Sebring, 725 S. Pine St., is hosting a fundraiser for the Sebring and Avon Park Meals on Wheels programs tonight beginning at 6.

Attendees will be able to sample gourmet food and wine from local chefs while listening to Chet Mau at the keyboard.

Tickets are $20 per person.

Gallery Walk in downtown Sebring

SEBRING - The Gallery/Downtown Walk in Sebring will be held from 5 -8 p.m. today.

The Skylarks to play at dance club

SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club hosts ballroom dancing tonight from 7- 9:30 at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.

Music will be provided by the Skylarks.

Free dance lessons will be available from 6:30 - 7 p.m.

All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress is required.

Admission is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers.

Saturday Morning Market scheduled

LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Saturday Morning Market is scheduled for March 13, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Stuart Park in Lake Placid.

Arts, crafts, jewelry, plants, silks, vegetables, wine, funnel cakes and kettle corn will be among the items available.

Breakfast and lunch are available from Jaxson's Restaurant and Hartzell's Meat Market & Catering.

Elvis Wade to perform at Quality Inn

SEBRING - There will be an Elvis Wade show at 7 p.m. March 13 at the Quality Inn Conference Center, 6525 U.S. 27 N., in Sebring.

There will be dancing and a cash bar. The cost is $10 per person.

Arts and crafts sale set at Buttonwood Bay

SEBRING - Buttonwood Bay will hold its annual "Springfest" Arts and Crafts Sale/Bake from 8 - 11 a.m. March 13 in the Buttonwood Bay Rec. Hall.

Buttonwood Bay is located on U.S. 27 South, one mile south of 98 and 66.

Local libraries to show movies

SEBRING - Free movies will be shown March 13 at the public libraries in Highlands County. They start at 2 p.m.

The schedule includes: "King of Hearts" at Avon Park, 100 N. Museum Ave.; "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in Sebring, 319 W. Center Ave.; "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" in Lake Placid, 205 W. Interlake Blvd.

Duffer's to hold Comedy Night

SEBRING - Duffer's Sports Grille will hold Comedy Night on March 13.

Uncle Dow Thomas, a multi-talented professional entertainer, will be the main act for the night. His comedy act will have a blend of stand-up, characterizations and music.

Another comedian who goes by the name Bull, otherwise known as Bill Ohse, will be the second act.

The comedian to kick it all off will be B.J. Odom, otherwise know as Bubba James on 106.9 The Bull FM in Zolfo Springs.

All three comedians will entertain from 8-10:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for the show only.

Take a quick spin around the track

SEBRING - The public can experience the famous race from the drivers' point of view March 14 as Sebring International Raceway and Skip Barber School of Racing present the 26th annual "Ride the Race Track" at Sebring International Raceway

It will be held from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

All tickets are $15.

They are available at the Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce, 227 U.S. 27 N., from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets are also at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union locations.

Bok Tower Concert Series continues

LAKE WALES - Bok Tower Gardens' Music at Pinewood Concert Series concludes March 14 at 4:30 p.m. with pianist Vladimir Svoysky performing "Romance of Spain."

A reception with refreshments to meet the artist will follow the concert. Tickets are $25 or $20 for members. Seating is limited.
