Investigators with the Highlands County Sheriff's Office are remaining busy investigating two separate homicides and the mysterious death of a baby, which have occurred over the last few weeks.
Lt. Tim Lethbridge said Tuesday they have no new information in any of the cases, the most recent one being Saturday's early morning shooting at Avon Park's Lewis Club.
Courtney Moore, 25, of Avon Park, and Jean Bleaublanc, 24, of Orlando, both died from injuries they suffered. Many other people were inside the club when the shooting took place, according to the sheriff's office.
On Feb. 26, the body of Gerald Musial, 62, was found inside his home at 1010 Carefree Parkway, in Tanglewood. His wife, Ruth Musial, 68, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with his death.
Ruth Musial was a former receptionist for Highlands Today.
Investigators were awaiting autopsy results to determine an exact cause of death for Gerald Musial.
Finally, on Feb. 20, Florida Hospital Heartland Division officials alerted the sheriff's office that a woman came into the hospital saying she had delivered a baby, but did not have the infant with her.
Sgt. Darin Hood previously said the infant was found dead at the woman's Tern Avenue home. No arrests have been made in that case.
Additional information on these three cases will be made available as soon as it is received.
