Do you owe more than your house is worth?
The Obama administration announced last week that the Home Affordable Refinance Program will continue through June 2011. It was projected to help 5 million borrowers who are paying their mortgages, but haven't been able to refinance because they owe more on their loan than their home is worth.
The program was scheduled to end in June, but now borrowers will have another year to get lower, fixed interest rates. Only 190,000 homeowners have qualified. Lenders believe homeowners don't understand the program.
