We have all seen well-behaved dogs and those much less so, often wondering how the well behaved dog and its owner achieved the calm and pleasing behavior that also helps to ensure the dog's safety. In Sebring, we have found one such human-dog training opportunity that just completed a course hosted at the YMCA.
Under the competent and patient leadership of Monica Griffith, (Griffinhaus German Shepherds and the "Good Dog" Obedience and Behavioral School) two classes of 10-plus dogs each and their human partners learned the basics of appropriate behavior to ensure the safety of the dog and its ability to bring joy to its owner.
It quickly became apparent the human is the focus of Monica's instruction. It is essential that the human learns how to communicate with the dog as to what is expected.
After six weekly sessions, the progress was dramatic. The training offered by Monica Griffith is commended and recommended without reservation.
