Pig Fest on tap

SEBRING - Pig Fest is set for today and Jan. 9 at Firemen's Field in Sebring. -

The flea market will open at 8 a.m. both days. There will be pig racing both days and a hog calling contest tonight at 7.

The annual Tractor Parade, which kicks off the Central Florida BBQ Festival, has been scheduled for noon today.

There has been a change in the schedule. Tonight's concert featuring Damon Fowler will be moved indoors due to the cold weather. The concert will be held in Pavilion B.

Gallery Walk scheduled

SEBRING - Gallery Walk will be held in downtown Sebring from 5 - 8 p.m. today.

Skylarks to play at social dance club

SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club will host ballroom dancing tonight from 7 - 9:30 at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.

The Skylarks will be playing.

All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress is required.

Admission is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers.

Saturday Morning Market canceled

LAKE PLACID - The Saturday Morning Market scheduled for Jan. 9 in Stuart Park has been canceled due to the cold weather that is anticipated this weekend.

Movies to be shown at local libraries

SEBRING - Free movies will be shown at the Highlands County public libraries Jan. 9. They will begin at 2 p.m.

The schedule includes the "The Woman in the Window" in Avon Park, 100 N. Museum Ave.; "Hannah Montana The Movie" in Sebring, 319 W. Center Ave.; "Second Hand Lions" in Lake Placid, 205 W. Interlake Blvd.

Grand opening set for clown museum

LAKE PLACID - The grand opening of the Toby's Clown Foundation museum and library will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 9.

The address is 109 W. Interlake Blvd. in Lake Placid.

Change made for Tanglewood show

SEBRING - The Harmonicats and comedian Keith Barnary will be performing Jan. 10 as the Tanglewood Winter Concert Series continues.

The Warnocks had been scheduled to perform, but they were not able to come due to an accident.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the show will begin at 7.

Tickets are $10. They are available at the door, in the Tanglewood Clubhouse and during business hours in the activities office.

Tanglewood is located one-half mile north of the Sebring Walmart on U.S. 27.
