A 17-year-old was arrested Saturday on allegations that he choked a family member and also put a knife to her throat.
Cameron Bernard Freeney, 17, was charged with crimes against a person that could cause death, a first-degree felony, and felony battery by strangulation.
He reportedly started choking the victim, released her from his grip and then choked her a second time, according to the arrest report.
At that point, Freeney allegedly grabbed a knife, put it to the victim's throat and said, "I'm going to kill you. You still think this is funny? You think this is a game?"
The victim pushed the 17-year-old away, but the scuffle didn't end there. He threw her to the ground and pointed the knife into her face, again repeating the threat to kill her, the report stated.
"One witness feared the defendant was going to kill the victim and had turned away in order not to see the incident take place," Highlands County Sheriff's Deputy Juan Delgado wrote in the arrest report.
Two other witnesses were able to pull Freeney off and the victim ran to a house across the street and called law enforcement.
