The defendant's attorney requested that the trial, Aaron Seward vs. The Knoll Century Hill Homeowners Association Inc. be postponed. The court has rescheduled the trial for April 7.
Many homeowners are stuck with paying assessments of $300 to $600 as of this month.
If the plaintiff got a favorable decision on Dec. 30 when the trial was scheduled to be held, homeowners would not be forced to pay this assessment in these hard economic times. This allows the Knolls H.O.A. Inc., to collect tens of thousands of dollars in assessments that they say came due on Jan. 1, one day after the trial was to be heard.
These fees are being collected from homeowners and the homeowners are doing everything they can to pay the assessments with the fear of threats and foreclosure on their homes.
There are 122 units in the Knolls. It's obvious how much money the association can collect. The public should think twice before buying into this type of mess. Many homeowners find out about this mess too late. So before buying into a homeowners association, read and understand the controlling documents, don't get trapped and ripped off.
