Two men involved in Thursday stabbing

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Investigators are continuing to look for clues as to what started a fight between two men that ended with one of them suffering cuts from a "sharp object."

Highlands County Sheriff's Sgt. Darin Hood said the other person suffered an injury to the face from another object, though he did not say what either of the objects were.

Both individuals suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to Hood.

One of the men, Vernon Walker, 24, of Avon Park, was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for a disposition hearing on a charge of misdemeanor battery. Hood said he suffered the cuts from the sharp object.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any knowledge of it should call Det. Bob Neale at (863) 402-7250. Those wishing to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward can contact Heartland Crime Stoppers at (800) 226-8477.
