I am compelled to respond to two editorial pieces that appeared in the Monday, Feb. 15 issue of Highlands Today. One is a letter from Sandi Eldenberger of Sebring and the other is a column by syndicated writer Steve Chapman.
Both of these folks have resorted to the old liberal Democrat practice of character assassination when they view someone as a serious threat to their position. They both clearly see Sarah Palin as a threat, as well they should. Former Gov. Palin and the Tea Party movement represent a serious challenge to the current morally and fiscally bankrupt administration and Congress.
Both Chapman and Eldenberger are in denial and have blinders on as to the current mood of the majority of the American people, whether they are Democrat, Republican or independent. They want change and not the kind of change that President Obama and the Democrats in Congress have in mind. Our government is out of control and is leading us over a cliff.
I would urge these two people and others who share their warped view of the world, to be prepared for the coming congressional elections in November. You are going to have a very bad day.
