Plenty of parties set for Super Bowl

Few, if any, one-day sporting events grab fan attention more than the Super Bowl and Super Bowl XLIV (that's 44) promises to be no exception as football fans who couldn't get or afford tickets flock to local venues to watch the game unfold.

This year the Indianapolis Colts will take on the New Orleans Saints at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, starting at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Roadhouse Grill of Sebring

At the Roadhouse Grill in Sebring they're offering diners two choices, said Jeff Galloway, bar manager.

The Super Bowl festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. to midnight with food and drink specials for $20

"We have free beer (Killian, Coors Lite, Bud Select), free pizza, free wings, free hot dogs," said Galloway.

Or come in and eat from the regular menu. Doors open at 11 a.m.

For those who want mixed drinks from "the well" Roadhouse will have a $1.50 two for the price of one specials on their drinks that normally cost around $2.50 each.

Diners can also enjoy two free pitchers of beer with an order of Nachos while they watch the restaurant's 50-inch screen TV.

At the bar are nine televisions for fans to watch the game. The restaurant holds 260 people and people will be admitted on a first-come first-serve basis.

Beef O'Brady's of Sebring

Opening at 11 a.m. Beef O'Brady's in Sebring, will serve its regular menu all day and will have door prizes, said Sherrie Shaffer, a shift manager there.

Starting at 1 p.m. they'll be serving two for one draft beer, wine and well drinks and during the game they'll have a 25 wing special with a pitcher of beer for $19.99.

Three big screen TVs and 14 regular TVs will be working up front and six more televisions will be running in the back room.

Beef O'Brady's of Lake Placid

The restaurant will also serve its regular menu all day with two for one draft beers, wine and well drinks.

The restaurant has more than 20 televisions on which to see the game.

Duffer's Sports Grille

Duffer's has plenty of entertainment planned for Super Bowl Sunday, starting at 4 p.m. with a pregame party.

A pizza and wing buffet will be set up from 5 to 9 p.m. for $20 per person. Happy hour drink specials and buckets of beer will be offered.

Blue Lagoon Saloon

The Blue Lagoon Saloon will serve its regular menu including wing specials all day.

The back room offers a 10 by 10-foot screen television on which to watch the game as well as on TVs located throughout the restaurant.

Mugs and Movies Lakeshore Mall

Tickets were available Friday for free admission to the Mugs and Movies theater on Sunday only for Super Bowl 44, to take place of the 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. shows.

Calls to Lakeshore Mall theaters for more information were not successful.
