My husband Smith and I are appalled at the Wild Turkey signs. Certainly, the Rearks have the right to say anything they wish, but they should be aware of the very negative appeal to racism and violence their words inspire.
People of a right mind should voice their opinion against this type of "freedom of expression" so that the rest of the world doesn't assume that everyone in Highlands County believes this negative and hurtful drivel.
Mahatma Gandhi said, "One should be free to give the fullest expression to his disaffection so long as he does not contemplate, promote or incite to violence." This sign and others of the Wild Turkey do not meet these criteria!
