I am new to the area and would like to submit some of my observations since arriving in the Sebring area. We arrived April 30 and find this area charming and comfortable.
I ride my bike around Lake Jackson every day and some days it's impossible to stay on the sidewalk due to the trash cans and plant litter on the walkway. I feel the lake is something we all should be proud of and would like to see a little more care taken around the lake.
Also, at the intersection of Hammock Road and U.S. 27, this morning alone, five cars turned into me (some talking on cell phones) when I had the right of way. There is a very small sign with a faded flag altering the drivers of pedestrians. Most people do not heed or see this sign. Maybe we can update it for a flashing warning if someone hits the crossing button.
