I received my trim notice late last week; it seems the good old boys are doing it again. If you have lowered my assessment from last year why have my taxes gone up $302.12 this year? Does any one care to answer? Will you say it's because of the state on school taxes?
Explain to me, if the value goes down on your home how can taxes rise? The trim notice has three columns, titled "Your property taxes last year" The second column is labeled "Your taxes this year if proposed budget change is made" and the third "Your taxes this year if no budget change is made"
Please explain to me how come the column labeled "Budget change is made" is about the same as last year's tax bill. Yet the column labeled "No budget change is made" is $302.12 higher? The county raised the taxes $135.60; why? The school board raised the taxes by the state up $103.22. And the local school raised the taxes by $48.13.
I'm from Broward County and moved here in 2001; I should have never left. When will this ever end? You will be paying for Guy Maxcy for the rest of his life because of your voter apathy. Wake up people! It's time to take a stand!
