A Sebring man died Sunday night from injuries he suffered in a one-vehicle accident Friday night in DeSoto County.
Jose Luis Martinez, 23, of Sebring, passed away at 9:30 p.m. at Lee Memorial Hospital, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At 10:45 p.m. Friday, Martinez was northbound on SW Welles Avenue in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix when he missed a curve and ran into a tree.
Martinez was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Information is pending as to whether or not alcohol was involved, the FHP said.
Total damage to the vehicle was $9,000.
