Changes made in pickup for yard waste in Avon Park

AVON PARK --

There is a change in pickup for yard waste, C and D waste, and appliances for Avon Park residents.

Yard waste will be picked up starting on Tuesday of each week. Yard waste means all reasonable accumulations of grass, trees, shrubbery or weed cutting, pine needles, grass clippings, branches, palm fronds and other vegetation trimmings.

Appliances will be picked up on Wednesday of each week on a "call in basis." Appliances are such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, bedding, machinery and equipment.

C and D will be picked up on Thursday of each week. C and D means building material or other substance accumulated as a result of repairs or additions to existing buildings, brick, lumber, concrete and furniture.

Regular household garbage pickup will remain the same.
