On Sept. 9, Nichole Sevigny had her third son, Caden. Four days later she was taken to the hospital for an unknown condition.
Since then, she's been battling severe pneumonia and remains hospitalized at Orlando Regional Hospital in critical condition.
Her family, which includes her father-in-law Dr. Ronald Sevigny, are thankful for the prayers and support of the community, said Ronald Sevigny's office manager Traci Smith.
On Saturday, Oct. 24 there will be a barbecue chicken dinner at the Charles R. Head Baseball Field in Avon Park starting at 4 p.m.
It costs $10 per plate and all proceeds will go to help the family, Smith said.
Christian music band Remnant will be playing, as well.
Tickets can be purchased at Highlands Independent Bank in Avon Park, Bill Jarrett Ford, Sevigny & Johnson Eye Care, Florida Hospital Heartland, Kenilworth Care and Rehabilitation, Sevigny & Timmerman Eye Care and Glades Electric.
Donations can also be made to the Nicholas Sevigny Trust Fund at Highlands Independent Bank's Avon Park branch.
