SEBRING The idea for the Backseat Guardian came one day when a teenaged driver cut in front of a car, almost causing an accident.
Hannah Jacobs, 10, suggested to her parents, "They should have a sticker on their car so you can call them and let them know when they do something wrong."
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, one of every five 16-year-olds will be involved in a vehicle crash.
At the other end of the age spectrum, medical conditions impair perception, judgment and motor skills, affecting the ability to drive safely.
Alex and Barbara Jacobs put Hannah's idea into action. For $50 per car, a bumper sticker can be placed on a car with a toll-free number. If a report comes, the subscriber receives a copy of the voice mail.
