I would like to publicly extend a heartfelt thank you to the following people and organizations for their generosity in remembering my husband, Robert Skorka, on April 19: The VFW Post 4300, former commander Francis Collum and his wife, Claire, the Post 4300 Honor Guard, Chaplain Dwayne from HRA, Mae Lee's Deli, "The Booze Brothers" (Ed Bates and Ben Kaleky,) Mark Scott and my very dear friend who put it all together, Ingrid Markland.
The memorial service held at the VFW Post 4300 was absolutely beautiful.
I want to also express my gratitude to everyone who attended.
It meant a great deal to me to see you all there. Being surrounded by people like you will make my burden a bit easier to bear.
It's during a time like this that we learn how much our friends really mean to us. Many thanks also to Highlands County EMT Tom Drew.
