I am writing to ask why Progress Energy appears to charge whatever it wants on any given KWH and also as to why it is the customer's responsibility to pay for the power going to our homes, on top of what we use. By no means is it up to me to pay for how they get it to me!

I don't want anything for free but I don't want to be taken for a ride either, which I feel is happening. On my bill I have been charged four different rates, which brought my bill up to $227.73 when my usage was $55.69! They should stop all these extra charges that make our bills so much higher than they should be in these trying times.
