Every time I read a letter about the noise at the bombing range, the noise! I think about a friend of mine, Fran, whose husband was stationed here and was an airplane mechanic during World War II. Fran lived in a travel trailer and Wayne, her brother-in-law, was training to be a pilot. When he would come back in from a training mission, he would buzz her trailer and rattle the dishes; she would yell "Wayne I'm going to hit you in the head!" or something like that.
Then the day came they got a letter stating that Wayne was shot down over Germany. Ms. Walker, he was that pilot, a brother, a brother-in-law and a son. So Ms. Walker, when you get woken up from the noise, go outside and look up and say a prayer. Thank God you have a bed to sleep in.
