It was with a heavy heart that I read about the passing of Lyn Roche. Although I did not know her personally, she and her husband lifted my spirits many times with their reminiscences and advice over the past years.

As a caregiver for my mother who had Parkinson's disease, Lyn and Bill finally gave me the OK to forgive myself for not having been able to take care of her at home until the end of her life.

I remember with tears the day, at my mother's request, that I placed her in a nursing home. It felt like I had in my perceived weakness, failed her at the last of her days. Although I know in my heart she did not blame me, the guilt was there.

With Lyn and Bill's infinite gift, the words they printed to so many caregivers could have been for me in many ways.

In some small way I want to thank both Lyn and Bill for their kind and loving hearts and the help they gave many of us in our time of need
