Look no further for something to do this weekend - the Avon Park Chamber of Commerce is putting on the 30th annual Springtime on the Mall.
"We encourage people to come out and have a good time," said David Greenslade, executive director of the chamber.
The festival is still going on even though Main Street is under construction, Greenslade said.
"We'd like people to walk through any shops that are open on Main Street," Greenslade said, adding that they needed to be careful walking around construction spots.
Parking is available on Museum Avenue, public parking lots and on side streets, he said.
According to Greenslade, the event will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both days there will be food, vendors, and arts and crafts.
Saturday there will also be a pancake breakfast given by Avon Park Noon Rotary Club beginning at 7:30 a.m. The event will be held at Auto Options. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
Also on Saturday there will be folk music from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Lake Avenue. Lawn chairs are encouraged.
Scheduled to play are:
10 a.m. - Memory Makers
11 a.m. - Bluegrass Travelers
Noon - Don Farrens and Friends
1 p.m. - Back Porch Revival
2 p.m. - Dale Webber and Linda Fackeldey
Food vendors include chicken, sausage, sandwiches, gyros, Chinese food, ice cream, snow cones, strawberry shortcake, Tex-Mex, hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes and miniature donuts. There will also be soda and water, but no alcohol served.
Arts and crafts vendors include woodworking, tropical signs, artificial flower arrangements, fragrance rocks, wearable art, photography, paintings, pottery, glass, clothing and jewelry.
