After attending the Wednesday meeting on the proposal to fix the district's watershed violations, and listening to the testimony of the Highlands County officials, it is apparent we have been given a pass on compliance for over 30 years.
It appears that the only way we can permanently fix the problem is to purchase the golf course for the bargain price offered by the owner. I was impressed by the fact that the price is almost half of the offer he had made not so long ago.
With ownership we could make Spring Lake a pillar community in Florida increasing everyone's interest in the community and ensure a great golf resort maintains it importance. I can't understand why anyone in this beautiful community would not want to have an ownership in this beautiful resort.
