Words Of Wisdom

»  Comments | Post a Comment

In reference to Edgar R. Cronin, Mr. Hoyt and Melody Griffins' letters and others with like opinions, I'm sorry not to have responded in a timely manner, but here is my response.

I'd like to give you statistics concerning the possible 45 million more human beings who might have been born and are a burden to today's society in the United States, with the economic, medical, social and life situations that cannot even properly take care of those who live here today within our world.

However, women who make hard decisions not to bring a child into the world who is not wanted or desired, cannot be financially cared for, is conceived through violence and force, or is a threat to their own or the unborn child's life, are angels in disguise and a choice well made.

This is not a civil issue or religious issue to me first, but a constitutional one. I am first and foremost an American, given rights in my country that give me the liberty to think and express and live and have faith in any religion and to live as I see fit without intrusion of others or government, and I'll simply repeat these words of wisdom that have stood up to the validity of our Constitution and Bill Of Rights since their inception.

"Under the law of nature all men are born free, every one comes into the world with a right to his own person, which includes the liberty of moving and using it at his own will. This is what is called personal liberty:" Thomas Jefferson, 1770.

Notice that these words do not say at conception, but when "born." I think that says it all right there and is why the people of the world desire to also become "American."
