Robert Palussek, director of the Highlands County Health Department, and Debbie McKellips will discuss "Closing the Gap," a new program launched to diagnose and help treat diabetes.

Highlands County Sheriff Susan Benton and Deputy Debbie Lees will discuss "Be the Wall," a program of Drug Free Highlands to encourage and support parents, retailers and community organizations in efforts to keep teens from drinking alcohol.

The homeowners association's monthly meeting runs from 9-11 a.m. Monday in the Club house of Sebring Country Estates, about a quarter mile west of US 27 on Grand Prix Drive.

The meetings are open to the public and include free coffee, tea and doughnuts before the meeting starts.

In addition to the guest speakers, the monthly meetings also include reports on civic issues, ranging from law enforcement and the schols to code enforcement, veterans services, planning and zoning, and recreation and parks.
