Serious Threat II

Thank you to Gingerlee Mitchelllindo who responded in opposition to my attack on the proposed Freedom of Choice Act (FOCAS.) I was concerned that no one cared enough to react unfavorably.

Rather than reply with personal attacks, I am anxious to respond to your several arguments. From my experience in pro-life work, I know the leaders of this movement are predominantly women, not men.

You express concern with all the people killed in wars and conclude there is no comparison between that tragedy and the number of abortions committed in the U.S.A. Are you not aware that since the infamous Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion in 1973 there have been more than 46 million abortions in this country alone? My father taught me at an early age that two wrongs do not make a right. Killing innocent babies in their mother's womb cannot be justified by citing other holocausts.

You proudly claim to find non-violent ways in personal relations and yet you defend a woman's "right" to kill her own baby. It is absurd to think that abortion is non-violent. Have you ever seen pictures of an aborted fetus, in whole or in parts? It is so grotesque it is impossible to not turn away in horror.

There are so many loving couples only too anxious to adopt new babies. In God's holy name, let them be born. Remember Gingerlee, your mother chose life when you were a fetus.

Let's get back to FOCA. Governments should not be playing God by legalizing abortion. Once that door is open, as it is with abortion, there will be no end of government life and death decisions, i.e. euthanasia, capital punishment, embryonic stem cell research, cloning, assisted suicide and selective reduction. Please write on this subject again. The proposed FOCA legislation must be kept in the public's eye.
