A 17-year-old boy looking to sell five iPods ended up in jail after pulling a gun on his two buyers, police said.
The juvenile, whose name cannot be released because of his age, was arrested and charged on two counts of armed robbery with a firearm.
Police say the buyers met the teen at a home in the 1400 block of Berwin Avenue on June 11. He was supposed to sell five iPods for $300, according to law enforcement.
One of the buyers gave the teen $300 and asked where the iPods were. The suspect said they were in his backpack and one of the victims looked inside.
The teen then pulled a handgun, saying "times were tough right now," the arrest report stated.
The two victims took off from the house and later identified the teenager through a photo line-up.
Highlands County Sheriff's Deputy Juan Delgado made the arrest.
