Well, there are always doctors' appointments in Clermont, Lakeland, Orlando and Tampa, to name a few. But for fun, me, as well as friends, head to Okeechobee, to the Flamingo Arcade; there we have fun and meet friends. You would really be surprised at the others we meet up with from Avon Park, Lake Placid and Sebring.
While we are there we have been noted to take in a restaurant or two, then of course there are stores that we just have to check out and gas to be bought. So there goes the money that could have stayed in Highlands County, if it weren't for the goodie two shoes in our county government.
I don't know for sure but I would be willing to bet that at least some of these same people who vote against arcade-type entertainment here in Highlands County have been known to enjoy it themselves, when they are out of the county and think they are safe from running into their friends. In fact, I have met such people in my travels.
