A 16-year-old Sebring boy was arrested after threatening his 17-year-old sister for calling him a name, according to police records.
The youth was arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated battery using a deadly weapon. He was in the care of the Department of Juvenile Justice in Bartow today.
According to a sheriff's arrest report, the pair argued in the family kitchen at about 11:15 a.m. Thursday. The boy was cutting open a package of hot dogs with a 9-inch steak knife when she reportedly called him the bad name.
The girl was seated at a counter bar stool, when he reportedly grabbed her left wrist and pulled her arm behind her back.
The girl reported feeling the pressure of the knife point pushing against her back. He reportedly also made a slicing motion against her lower back.
Sheriff's Deputy Jared Futch reported seeing a slight linear reddened area on her back that was consistent with the girl's account, and made the arrest.
