Medical bills

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Physicians need to more specifically itemize their bills. For instance, a $100 charge could perhaps read: Lab work $35 ($15 medically needed, $20 legally defensive) $40 malpractice insurance ($25 of which is for attorney advertising.)

Some of us are old enough to remember when it was considered unethical for attorneys to advertise. Now there are occasional advertisements which are not attorneys advertising for business. The remaining $25 is for the physician with $5 of this for redundant defensive release forms.

My brilliant son in law passed his intelligence to my grandson who has excelled academically. For many years he had planned to be a physician. He recently told me that he is not willing to face the malpractice vultures. He now expects to major in economics with a focus on corporate economics; perhaps being a corporate attorney.
