Sometimes when reading the newspaper one comes across comments so outrageous and off the mark that a retort is necessary. On July 13 a writer stated in a Letter to the Editor that "the NRA is a lobbying organization dedicated to putting more guns in the hands of criminals." The writer then rambles on about the NRA advancing its "radical program" and having "access to our libraries."
So not only does this writer have a problem with the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution regarding the right to own guns, but they also take issue with the First Amendment, which allows the dissemination of differing ideas in our libraries.
Perhaps this writer should consider a move to Cuba or North Korea where they won't have to worry about annoying things like constitutional rights.
