AP Depot Museum's Sunday Series begins July 12

When was McDonald's founded? Who gave the "Iron Curtain" speech? When was "Psycho" released? Who was Rosa Parks? When did Marilyn Monroe die? When did "Sesame Street" first air? What was the "Manhattan Project?" When were Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy assassinated?

If you know the answers to most of these questions, chances are you were around in the mid-20th Century. That's what the July 12 Summer Sunday Speaker Series at the Avon Park Depot Museum is all about. It's a "chat room" where visitors are encouraged to share their stories about life in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.

Larry Levey, president of the Historical Society of Avon Park, will be the moderator.

The event is free to the public. The museum opens at 1 p.m., with the "chat room" running from 2 to 4 p.m.

Donations are accepted and visitors can browse the museum gift shop. Light refreshments will be served.

For more information, call Levey at 385-8618.
