The Heart of Highland Sweet Adeline Chorus announces that Showcase Showdown and In The Mix will perform at the chorus's "Big Band Serenade" on Sunday, Feb. 8 at the SFCC Auditorium in Avon Park.
The male barbershop quartet has been together for about two years and already has made a splash in the Sunshine District, finishing fourth in their first competition.Quartet members are: Tenor-Jimmy Kite, Lead-Travis Crew, Baritone-George Bower and Bass-Don Hardy.
The female quartet In The Mix won Sweet Adeline's international competition for Region 9, which is the state of Florida. The group also received regional medals in 2005 and 2006, placing fourth and fifth in the Quartet Division. They were Champion winners in 2007 and 2008 in the Quartet Division.
Members Carter Maysilles, Betty Meinholz, Gina Ogden and Lana Owens just returned from competing in the international competition in Hawaii.
The show starts at 2:30 p.m. Doors open at 1:45 p.m.
