Precautionary Boil Water Notice Issued

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Placid Utility water system customers in the Tomoka Heights subdivision on Beechwwod Way experienced emergency water shutdown at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, to repair a four-inch water line. Water was restored by noon.

As a precaution, those affected by this shutdown should boil water used for drinking, cooking or brushing teeth. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. This includes ice machines, soda fountains and drinking water fountains. As an alternate, bottled water may be used.

This boil water notice will remain in effect for two consecutive days until the bacteriological samples show that the water is safe to drink. At that time a rescind notice will be issued.

If you have any questions, contact the Placid Utilities water department at 402-6786 or 699-3716.
