Two Homes Invaded

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Deputies are still looking for three black males who invaded two Washington Heights homes Friday evening.

Lt. Kenny Johnson said the two occupants of 208 Montego Drive were on the back porch about 6:45 p.m. Friday when they saw the three invaders, clothed in black, enter the home.

"They beat feet," said Johnson. "They weren't going to stay around and find out who was coming in."

A few minutes later, Johnson said Saturday morning, 911 got another call from 216 Montego Drive. It was another home invasion. This time, the three suspects took money from a victim. Two were armed with handguns, one with a long gun or a shotgun.

"They fled on foot," said Johnson, so K9 deputy Luis Pratts-Martinez was called. His dog tracked the three across the orange grove to Kenilworth and Industrial Way, where the trail ended.

A few minutes after getting a ride back to his truck, Pratts-Martinez spotted a man in black clothing with a long gun across the handlebars of his bicycle. The man ditched the bike and fled on foot into the groves, eventually dropping the gun.

Pratts-Martinez arrested Adam Wallace, 18, of Sebring.

Johnson said deputies do not know whether Wallace is connected with the home invasion, but he remained Saturday in Highlands County Jail. He has been charged with resisting arrest and carrying a firearm after a previous felony.

Deputies are asking anyone who may have knowledge of the home invasions to call Det. Tim Lefhbridge at 402-7200.
