Isn't it amazing how the reporting of the Iraq War ended with the election. It is enough to make one believe that the war against terrorism has come to a close. People, the news media in this country has gone beyond where our forefathers intended it to go. It has become another branch of our government. It was intended to be the monitor in our system of government; it was intended by our founding fathers that the news media keep the political machine honest and working for the people, not the political machines.

The news media knew about the collapse of our financial and automotive industries long before they were forced to air these problems and please don't allow anyone to convince you other wise. Had it been where it was suppose to be, the difficulties would have been in the limelight long before the fertilizer hit the ventilator. But, that would have tarnished the Congress and perhaps impeded the goal of the Democratic Party and its agenda for 2008; the gobbling up of Congress and the White House.

The important issue here is the misuse of the word by the news media. Those of us old enough to remember World War II can recall the media back then, of course one must remember, there was a Democrat in the White House and had been there for almost eight years. The tactics used today by the media, if used then, would have found the media lined up against a wall, facing a firing squad. The media knows well that it can do anything it wants, as long as it doesn't step on any Democratic toes. But full speed ahead when the time comes to attack a Republican or independent.

Let's pray that 2009 will be the beginning of the end of this horrible situation these politicians have put us in. God only knows whether the bailouts are what is needed to get this country back on track.
