Barbecue Festival On Tap

SEBRING - The 2009 Central Florida BBQ Festival - 12 Hours of BBQ will begin today and continue through Jan. 10.

There will be live entertainment, racing pigs and a flea market, which begins at 8 a.m. both days.

The event will be held at Firemen's Field in Sebring.

Carillon Concert Series Begins At Bok

LAKE WALES - The 2009 Moonlight Carillon Concert series begins tonight at 7:30 at Bok Tower Gardens.

The hour-long concert by carillonneur William De Turk will feature a variety of music including selections from the "Sound of Music." Visitors can view De Turk's performance on the video monitor located behind the Japanese Lantern and meet him by the Information Booth after the performance.

The concert series continues Feb. 7, March 15 and April 7 at 7:30 p.m.

After 5 p.m., admission is $5 for adults and $1.50 for children ages 5-12. Children under age 5 and members are admitted free.

Dance Club Featuring Golden Era Band

SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club hosts ballroom dancing tonight from 7 - 9:30 at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.

Music will be provided by the Golden Era Big Band.

Free ballroom dance instruction is available at 6:30 p.m.

All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress required.

Admission is $5 for members and $7 for non-members.

Gallery Walk To Help Charity

SEBRING - This month's Gallery Walk will be held today from 5 - 8 p.m. in downtown Sebring.

A portion of the sales from participating businesses will be donated to local charities.

'Mamma Mia' To Be Shown At LP Library

LAKE PLACID - The movie "Mamma Mia" will be shown at 2 p.m. Jan. 10 at Lake Placid Memorial Library.

There is no charge for admission. The popcorn and lemonade are also free.

Lawn Mowers To Race In AP

AVON PARK - Lawn mower racing will be Jan. 10 at the Avon Park Mower Plex, 2155 Herrick Road.

Gates open at 5 p.m., with racing to begin at 6.

Admission for spectators is $5 for adults. Children under are admitted free with an adult.

'New Odyssey Show' At Sebring Village

SEBRING Sebring Village will be hosting the "New Odyssey Show" at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 11. Cost is $8 for members and $10 for non members.

"The New Odyssey" comprises three funny and versatile guys who perform almost every style of arrangements on 30 instruments, and who have played together for more than 20 years.
