Ship Of State

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The ship of state with its new captain sails on.

It's still low in the water. It is veering off course to the left. He orders his helmsperson, Nancy, to steer to the right and stay the course. The ship's mortgage sails are in bad shape. The weather person warns of a storm on the horizon. It is not known whether it is a depression or just hot air blowing from the north caused by global warming.

The storm has passed. The ship's mortgage sails are in bad shape. The captain tells the ship of state's quartermaster, "We need more tarps." The reply, "We can't, there are none." The captain tells him to go to the hold and get some from the treasure. Again you hear off in the distance, "Bail, row, tarps!, More tarps.
